TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2015

Soprema Inc. has developed a waterproofing system for new construction and renovation projects.

Mammouth Neo features an elastomer made from organically sourced raw materials derived from 75 percent canola oil, which uses 30 percent fewer non-renewable fossil resources than traditional membranes, according to the company.

This composition reportedly helps the system withstand weathering and last longer.

The system has two thin, lightweight layers to provide the durability of a redundant system, according to Soprema. The system contains Mammouth Neo Base SI, a self-adhered first layer; and Mammouth Neo Cap, a self-protected second layer.

The system can be applied to concrete, wood or steel substrates, the company says.
