Protecting commercial and other structures from the costly degradation of corrosion will be the focus of a new, intensive, low-cost, one-day conference next week.
Time is running out to register for Engineered Corrosion Solutions 2014, which focuses on the fundamentals of corrosion from an economic and technical perspective.

Whether the setting is architectural, commercial, electronic or industrial, "the fundamental corrosion mechanisms are identical," notes 2014 Engineered Corrosion Solutions organizer Warren Brand. |
The conference will premiere March 13 in the Chicago suburb of Skokie, IL, highlighting the latest tools and technologies for preventing and controlling corrosion across a variety of industrial and commercial settings.
One Problem, Many Faces
"Whether we are talking about corrosion under insulation at a refinery, a leaking cooling tower basin at a commercial building, peeling paint on a condominium association in Chicago, or corrosion on a circuit board, the fundamental corrosion mechanisms are identical," says conference organizer Warren Brand, owner of Chicago Coatings Group.
The goal of the eight-hour conference is to equip owners and operators with the proper tools and protocols for long-term maintenance-free protection of their assets, said Brand, a coatings industry veteran who is an MBA, NACE-Level 3 and SSPC-PCS.
The day features a series of expert-led lectures on various corrosion topics and exhibitors from around the industry. Registration is $35 until March 10; $50 after that.
Cold Walls, Coatings and CIPP

Conference Exhibitors
Conference vendors were vetted to "ensure that they maintain an extremely high level of integrity, provide outstanding customer service, are highly knowledgeable, and exhibit uniquely valuable products and services," conference organizers said.
