New Air Barrier System Debuts

Duro-Last Inc. has introduced Duro-Guard Sopravap’r, a vapor retarder and air-barrier membrane designed to address the movement of air in roofing assemblies.

The system is composed of a self-adhesive SBS modified bitumen with a polyethylene facer on the top surface and a silicone release film on the bottom, according to a product release by the Saginaw, MI-based manufacturer.

Applications

The company says the system can be used to provide long lasting thermal and waterproofing protection in all climate zones. The product can be installed on steel, plywood, concrete board, gypsum, asphalt panel, or concrete deck.

The company says the product comes in rolls measuring 3.75 feet by 133 feet and will cover 465 square feet with a 3-inch overlap.

Further, Duro-Guard Sopravap’r can be used as a temporary roof in new construction or roof tear offs, the company notes.
