The third-generation company, more than 50 years old, says that its wet-blasting process eliminates more than 90 percent of the ambient dust produced by dry blasting. Wet blasting adds a water mist during the spraying process.

GeoBlaster's products—the GB400, GB600, GB 1200 DT, and the SA Series—will join Graco’s Applied Fluid Technologies Division.

Expansion Strategy

In December 2013, Minneapolis-based Graco acquired EcoQuip Inc., a blast equipment maker based in Chesapeake, VA. That portfolio was also folded into the Applied Fluid Technologies business.

EcoQuip was the first abrasive-blasting acquisition for the longtime spray-equipment giant. The GeoBlaster purchase will strengthen Graco's stake in its new field.

The GeoBlaster deal "aligns with our strategies to deliver leading technologies and expand our worldwide business,” said Tim White of Graco's AFT division.
