Flashless Metal Edge Unveiled

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1, 2017

Garland (Cleveland, Ohio) has launched R-Mer Force, a new edge metal system made for roofs.

The patent-pending system is built to eliminate the need for flashing piles that would normally be installed at the roof’s edge, with the goal of saving installation time along with labor and material costs, the company says.

R-Mer Force is connected to the exterior wall via aluminum anchors and a thermoplastic elastomer compression seal, which aims to keep surface tension balanced, the company says. Fascia cover pieces snap onto the installed anchors, and splice plates complete the installation.

Modern Safety Techniques

Garland, a worldwide leader in high-performance roofing and building-envelope products, said in a press release that customers can expect the same strength and longevity from R-Mer Force as they do with the company’s other products, as R-Mer Force meets building code ANSI/SPRI ES-1 requirements for structural integrity and wind resistance.
