WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2021

The Construction Specifications Institute, Inc. and ASTM International have finalized an agreement to link CSI’s Uniformat standards and ASTM’s E1557 standards within Crosswalk, a web service of the CSI-owned Construction Information Network, LLC, and a platform that integrates CSI classifications into construction technology.

The ASTM E1557, meanwhile, expands descriptions of many existing elements. Therefore, integrating the two, according to CSI, enables the architecture, engineering, construction and owners industry to easily communication and build with more accuracy, safety and cost effectiveness.

The integration aims to allow a seamless translation between the two standards, according to Mark Dorsey, CEO of CSI.
