Once the potential hazards are discussed the applicable OSHA standards will be briefly reviewed, the discussion will involve review of how they are measured, how to understand the results of respiratory exposure testing, and how often testing should occur. The next section of the seminar will review what personal protective equipment can be used to mitigate the hazard, this discussion will focus on the different types of respirators and how they work; what respiratory protection should be generally used for certain applications and exposures will also be reviewed. The next section will discuss the care and use of the different types of respiratory protection; how to clean, store, and wear different types of personal protective equipment will be covered. The summary of the seminar will stress the importance of knowing the hazards and how to protect yourself by properly selecting, wearing, and caring for PPE.
