A new double-sided tape from Tesa is designed to enable constructive bonding for a range of applications, including powder-coated materials.
ACXplus double-sided tapes are billed as a non-damaging alternative to screws, rivets, glue, or welding when bonding dissimilar materials.

Tesa's new ACXplus tape is designed for strength, weather resistance, and corrosion prevention.
|
The tape offers high adhesion, a seamless finish, and corrosion prevention, Tesa says.
'Intelligent Bonding'
Tesa calls ACXplus tape an "intelligent bonding" option for indoor and outdoor applications.
Key features include:
-
Better force distribution and minimized weak points;
-
No risk of corrosion around drill holes;
-
Absorption of shock and vibration; and
-
Compensation for different rates of thermal expansion and contraction.

The tape can bond dissimilar substrates, including powder-coating materials, the company says.

3 Strengths
ACXplus has three product families with specific strengths.
For high transparency, ACXplus 705x provides an invisible bonding method and can be combined with an adhesion promotor for use on substrates with low surface energy or a high exposure to temperature and weather conditions.
The ACXplus 706x product group offers high adhesion on powder-coated materials, plastics, and other substrates with a lower surface energy, the company says. It is recommended for hard-to-bond materials.
ACXplus 707x has the highest long-term resistance against extreme temperatures, including shock resistance down to -40°C.
