Sentina Inc., a New York-based producer of protective cargo coverings, has been awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its reusable, vacuum-sealable, and tamper-evident covering.
The protective covering is the flagship product for the company, which focuses on creating sustainable packaging that prevents unauthorized opening and protects shipments from water damage, theft, and inclusion of unwanted substances.
Designed to meet government standards regarding safe, secure cargo, Sentina’s patented one-piece covering fully encapsulates shipments and is vacuum-sealed. Any tampering of the cover or its contents is immediately evident.
Constructed using a durable nylon fabric with a thick polyurethane coating, the easy-to-apply units employ a special zipper and vacuum port. According to the company, the coverings can be used multiple times.
