Specialty coatings maker Tennant Company has introduced Eco-SDS static-dissipative urethane floor coatings, designed for facilities that need to control static electricity.

Eco-SDS coatings are low odor and contain just 13 g/L VOCs, to minimize facility shutdowns during application. Light stable and UV/chemical resistant, Eco-SDS coatings are formulated for high performance, the manufacturer says.
Application and Features
Tennant’s Eco-SDS is suitable for electronic and healthcare manufacturing and assembly facilities and other operations that need to reduce the risk of static-related damage to products. Features include:
• Electrostatic discharge control, with the company’s WearGuard-SDS technology that meets ANS/ESD S20.20-2007 requirements;
• Light stability, with UV resistance that requires less frequent recoating;
• LEED credit availability for Indoor Environmental Quality; and
• Durability, with formulations designed to last as long as standard urethanes and up to two times longer than standard epoxies.
Eco-SDS is available in satin finish or a variety of grays. “Tennant is committed to not only formulating high-performing coatings but to ensuring those coatings are safe for individuals and for the environment,” said Mickey Gubman, the company’s director of Coating Technologies. Minneapolis-based Tennant Company is a global provider of specialty surface coatings for protecting, repairing and upgrading floors and walls.
