| Soluble salt contamination on surfaces exposed to atmospheric conditions is often found underneath bridges and other areas that are not regularly rinsed with rain, according to Chlor*Rid. |
Chlor*Rid Structural is recommended for use as part of surface preparation before applying primers or coatings on ferrous and non-ferrous metal, concrete, wood, plastic and other surfaces.
Soluble salt contamination on surfaces exposed to atmospheric conditions is particularly prevalent on undersides of bridges, platforms and other areas that are not regularly rinsed with rain, the manufacturer says.
For more demanding service, such as immersion or tank lining, the manufacturer recommends its standard Chlor*Rid product.
Features and Characteristics
Chlor*Rid Structural has a shelf life of 36 months, and application equipment can be cleaned by flushing with fresh water.
For high-pressure washing, Chlor*Rid Structural is added to potable water or other approved source in a dilution ratio of about 1:50. The application rate depends on the contamination level and water quality. A minimum 3000 psi pressure washer is recommended. The product is not rinsed. A gallon of the single-component, non-flammable product will typically cover 200 to 500 square feet.
