Magnalight.com, from Larson Electronics, has introduced an explosion-proof LED light designed to be mounted to any standard industrial blasting gun.
The BLG-LED-4 LED blasting light includes a protective lens system for use in media blasting operations, as well as IECex and ATEX certifications for worldwide use.
Designed for both convenience and durability, the BLG-LED-4 LED blasting gun light produces intense illumination for good visibility in the demanding conditions of blasting operations, where dust and debris can obscure a light source.
Features and Performance
The light can be easily mounted to any standard industrial blasting gun and includes a quick-change lens cover made of tempered glass to protect the light from the damaging effects of blasting materials. As the lens is scratched by contact with blasting media, the operator can simply slide the old lens out—even working with gloves—and insert a new one, the manufacturer says.
“The BLG-LED-4 gun-mounted LED blasting light operates without cords or transformers and offers intrinsically safe protection with worldwide certifications for hazardous location areas,” said Rob Bresnahan, of Magnalight.com.
The light will operate for more than 80 hours on a single set of batteries and produces 90 lumens of intense light in a concentrated beam. The unit is simply clamped on to any standard industrial blasting gun; a rubber-coated switch is then depressed to activate the light. The nylon housing allows for watertight operation in wet environments.
The Magnalight LED blasting light is certified Zone Zero for use in Class 1, Division 1 areas and Class 2, Division 1 areas.
