International Paint LLC, an AkzoNobel company, has named Neil Plowman as the company’s new Marine & Protective Coatings General Manager, Americas.
Plowman will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to all aspects of the company’s financials and investments, supply chain sales, R&D, operations and marketing efforts throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and Central and South America.
International Paint is one of the world’s leading providers of high-performance protective coatings, linings and fire-protection products.
Coatings Resume
Plowman has 25 years of experience within the International Paint Worldwide business serving Western Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and the United Kingdom.
He began his career at International Paint in 1987 as a sales representative for the company’s specialty coatings brand and moved to Yacht Coatings in 1989. There, he worked his way through a number of sales, marketing and product management positions.
In 2003, AkzoNobel presented Plowman with an outstanding achievement award for his contributions to the growth and expansion of the global Yacht Coatings business. In 2005, he was named Worldwide Yacht Coatings General Manager.
‘New Areas of Growth’
Plowman earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from the University Bristol, UK, and later received a diploma in marketing from the UK’s Institute of Marketing.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the Marine & Protective Coatings Americas business,” he said.
“My experience working in other International Paint global divisions has equipped me to take on this exciting challenge, and I look forward to helping the Americas team move into new areas of growth and market penetration in the years to come.”
