The plant, upgraded in 2007, provides internal coating, flow assurance coating (Pipe-in-Pipe), anti-corrosion and concrete weight coating. The complex, which covers more than 70 acres, serves clients throughout the Middle East.
Scope of Work
The project involves will coating of 292 km (about 181 miles) of up to 24-inch pipe with a fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) anticorrosion coating and the company’s HeviCote concrete weight coating.
Work on this project is scheduled to begin late in the first quarter of 2012.

The contract includes application of the company’s HeviCote pipe coating system, which includes an anti-corrosion layer (1) and reinforced concrete (2).
The $10.3 billion Barzan project will supply gas to Qatar’s domestic market. It is Qatar’s most expensive project since Royal Dutch Shell launched a $19 billion gas-to-liquids plant in 2006.
