Applications include manufacturing plants, storage areas, warehouses, correctional facilities, and clean rooms.
The product is formulated to be fast-curing and re-coatable, and to meet USDA requirements. A variety of colors can be achieved with the addition of Florock 100% Solids Colorants.
Floropoxy System 8000 is a highly cross-linked polymer coating designed to prevent concrete dusting, improving air quality and reducing strain on air filtration systems.
Surface Prep and Application
For surface preparation, Florock advises that new concrete undergo a 28-day cure and have a broom-swept finish before coating. For older concrete flooring, all surface oils, paint, dust and debris should be removed. The surface should be clean, pass the MVT test and the water drop test, and all surface defects repaired before coating.
The manufacturer advises applying Floropoxy System 8000 at approximately 300 to 400 square feet per gallon with a 3/8-inch mohair type, roller cover.
Floropoxy should not be applied when floor temperature is above 90° F or below 55° F, or when within 5° F of the dew point.
Florock products are produced by Chicago-based Crawford Laboratories Inc., a concrete floor paint R & D facility established in 1952. Florock concrete paint is formulated of a durable polymer developed to withstand punishing conditions, the company says.
