DeFelsko Corp. touts its new PosiTector 6000 coating thickness gage as more rugged, more powerful, smarter and faster than ever before.

The unit is designed for all metal substrates, with Standard and Advanced models that both feature built-in memory, onscreen statistics, USB mass storage, and a new Fast Mode.

Advanced models also include:

  • Multiple stored calibration adjustments for measuring on a variety of substrate conditions;
  • An SSPC PA2 feature that determines if film thickness over a large area conforms to user-specified min/max levels;
  • A PSPC 90/10 feature that determines if a coating system complies with an IMO performance standard;
  • A high-contrast, reversible-color LCD;
  • Scan Mode to store continuous readings;
  • Onscreen help;
  • Real-time graphing; and
  • Picture prompting.
Report Capabilities

Memory storage and downloading capabilities have both been upgraded. With PosiTector.net, users can upload stored measurements, generate detailed and customizable reports, and share results with colleagues via a secure internet connection. Stored readings and graphs can also be accessed using universal PC/Mac web browsers or file explorers. No software is required.

Probe Features

All DeFelsko probes can be detached and replaced with any of the company’s wide variety of probes. All PosiTector 6000 probes built after 2006 are backwards compatible with the new body style. Users may upgrade the gage body and keep their existing probes.

All probes carry a two-year warranty and are designed for use by painters, platers, anodizers, powder coaters, inspectors and other coatings professionals.
