Guzzler Manufacturing has redesigned its Guzzler NX industrial vacuum loader with a more powerful blower and quieter operation.
The redesigned Guzzler NX is built for clean-up and recovery of a wide range of materials, including solids, dry bulk powders, liquids, slurries and heavy sludge. The equipment provides total operator control over working speed, making it appropriate for a variety of applications, the manufacturer says.
The redesigned Guzzler NX costs less than the original model and is lighter weight, to improve fuel economy, said Tony Fuller, the manufacturer’s director of industrial sales. “The Guzzler NX has been redesigned for more efficient, easier operation from the inside out,” he said.
Blower Specs
The heart of the equipment is a Robuschi blower that delivers 5,435 (free air) CFM, with vacuum capabilities up to 28 inches of mercury. The larger, injection-cooled blower allows the operator to load more material at a lower engine RPM, conserving fuel and drastically reducing noise to a level that requires no sound shroud, the manufacture says.
“The machine delivers ultra-quiet operation without the expense or weight of a sound shroud,” Fuller said. The equipment is rated at 88.9 dB per SAE Test J1372.
Filtration System
The cyclone and bag houses are configured together to maximize efficiency and reduce overall truck weight without sacrificing loading capacity, the company says. An increased filter area, combined with offline cleaning, extends bag life while forcing carry-over back to the debris tank. The unit’s 72 70-inch bags provide a 4-to-1 air-to-cloth ratio, to keep the system clean and filtered.
Vacuum Recovery
The Guzzler NX features patented Vacuum Recovery (VR) technology that incorporates automatic offline cleaning of the integral bag house and cyclone, resulting in easier operation, the manufacturer says. Material is recovered into the 18-cubic-yard debris tank while the operator continues to work at the hose. A manual override is included for applications that require forced cleaning.
Offloading Options
The Guzzler offers multiple offloading options for reclamation, recycling or redistribution of material into storage silos, rail cars or other containers.
The high dump body option features a heavy-duty, telescopic, hydraulic cylinder that lifts the debris body up and slightly backward for extra clearance, allowing for direct dumping of material into roll-off boxes up to 54 inches high.
The vertical auger option, which features an isolation valve between the tank and auger for longer life and minimal cleanup, provides controlled offloading for free-flowing wet or dry material.
The dense phase offloading option, for cement or bulk power applications, combines applied pressure with high airflow for true dense phase conveyance up to 120 feet (36.6 m) vertically.
Maintenance, Safety
Fewer gasket surface areas and chambers without common walls mean fewer leak points on the Guzzler NX. Safety features include check valves on every cylinder, and a ladder and catwalk allow for easy maintenance. Guzzler Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation’s Environmental Solutions Group, based in Oakbrook, IL.
