Resodyn Engineered Polymeric Systems Inc. has introduced its next-generation Polymer Thermal Spray (PTS) system, a high-output system designed to create zero-VOC protective coatings without oven baking or curing.
The PTS-30 system uses PTS technology, a flameless heating technology that gently processes powdered materials at high deposition rates to create powder coatings of any thickness, without burned particles. Coatings are ready for immediate use after application, the company says.
The PTS-30 system processes polymeric materials formulated by Resodyn to create powder coatings for corrosion protection, chemical resistance, wear and erosion protection, anti-skid, thermal and acoustic insulation, and blast mitigation.
Applications
Applications include construction equipment, bridges, water tanks, large structures and ships. “The system is completely portable, so it is highly applicable to on-site construction applications and dockside/shipboard use,” says Resodyn spokesman Kevin M. Lane.
The Montana-based company also offers engineering support to develop automated factory systems for high-throughput, continuous-process applications.
Resodyn works with a variety of customers that require coatings for concrete, steel, and fiber composite structures, including water tanks. The company develops custom polymeric coatings for use with its applicator systems. It has also developed new polymeric materials for specific protection purposes for the Department of Defense and other governmental agencies.
