POSITION TITLE: Product Manager
REPORTS TO: Industrial General Manager
DEPARTMENT: Sales
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Industrial Product Manager will provide oversight for relationship management for Distributor Sales and serve as internal liaison for sales team, R & D project management, and inventory management.
Distributor Sales
Manage Distributor Sales agreements and pricing. Work with field sales and distributors to set annual sales goals. Provide sales support for existing distribution customers. Sales calls will be required with JB sales territory reps. and distributor sales in various markets. Distributor training will also be required on an on-going basis. Develop new accounts with distributor sales by improving our relationships and supporting our sales team build relationships with key decision makers. Have working knowledge about liquid coating application and have the ability to work with customers to improve coating properties and performance. Work with R&D to understand the Jones-Blair product chemistry.
JB Industrial Sales Coordinator
Provide sales support for field sales team. Work with R&D to manage projects and coordinate field trials. Provide a focal point for information regarding R&D product development. Assist manufacturing with managing stock inventory. Work with field sales to review forecasts and provide guidance to production managers. Coordinate company responses to customers regarding quality complaints.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
-Develop relationships with distributors and assist in sales of new and existing accounts.
-Understand and become familiar with Jones-Blair products, focus on epoxy/urethane technology.
-Understand and become familiar with the Jones-Blair organization and be able to navigate orders and other key processes through our system.
-Provide training to distributor sales representatives
-Manage annual Distributor Agreements and Sales Objectives.
-Understand our Websites and how to modify or create them with Marketing.
-Prepare price quotes.
-Coordinate R&D projects with field sales.
-Assist manufacturing with stock inventory levels.
-Work with field sales to prepare sales forecasts to production.
-Prepare monthly reports on sales activities.
-Report on expenses weekly.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
-Excellent writing skills.
-Excellent oral presentation skills.
-Excellent time management skills
-Overnight travel (20%).
-must be able to lift 50 lbs.
